Many of our Pastors/Parishes receive fund raising and financial help requests from priests, dioceses, religious communities and lay organizations. Since our diocese did not have a policy on these there have been different kinds of practices and funds/monies were transferred to parishes and individual accounts directly.
In order to coordinate and regulate it, at the request of Bishop McElroy, the Office for Missions have formulated some guidelines and an application. After much consultation, editing and review, the Presbyteral Council has approved it.
Kindly make use of it and follow its guidelines for any Special Purpose Collections. This would enable us to be transparent and much more accountable.
